I was born on the cusp of a new era in what is now the Russian Federation shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union and, perhaps due to the prominent role politics played in Russian society during my childhood, have always been enthralled by the world of politics and international relations, and my experience living in two other countries – Canada and the United States of America – only served to strengthen my interest. It was natural for me to choose Political Science as my major in college and I have written a number of analytical papers during the course of my education. My keen interest in global politics and fluency in Russian helped me distinguish myself by collating information gleaned from both Russian-speaking and Western media, thus being able to illustrate the contrasting viewpoints from different parts of the world on some of the most prominent international issues, such as the Wars in Iraq and Chechnya, the Russian invasion of Georgia, the American missile shield in Poland, Israel's war in Lebanon, nuclear non-proliferation issues, Darfur genocide, and many others.

In addition to my passion for international relations, I am an avid computer game player with rich knowledge of the medium, my game experience beginning in the early 1990s with the likes of Golden Axe and Mechwarrior. As a long time gamer, I also enjoy writing about the games I love and have written numerous game reviews for my personal collection.
